Emerson turns your iPod into a karaoke machine for $30. We've seem some feeble attempts at iPod karaoke before, but we're willing to give this new one, from venerable brand Emerson, a fair shot. The gist is you get a microphone that connects via cables to both your iPod and your home theater system. Now songs from your iPod blare out from the speakers with lyrics on your TV screen (or iPod) that you can sing along with. The catch is that in order to have songs with lyrics, you need to rip special files from the supplied DVD (which has only 16 tunes) or download them for $2 a pop. That's not too big a deal, and we weren't expecting much for $30, but what are these things called wires? — Peter Pachal
